Direct transfers

Direct transfers

An agent can transfer money directly from their float account to any client's savings or loan account without the client needing to submit a request first. This is ideal when a client walks in to an agent with cash and wants an immediate deposit or loan repayment.

How it works

  1. The agent logs in to the USSD system and selects Agent Services → Direct Transfer.
  2. The agent searches for the client using one of the following methods:
    • Account number — the exact savings or loan account number
    • Phone number — the client's registered mobile number
    • ID number — a national ID, passport, or other configured identifier type
  3. The system displays the matched client or group name. The agent confirms this is the correct recipient.
  4. The agent selects the account type (savings or loans). For clients, group savings accounts can also be selected.
  5. The agent selects the specific account from the list of active accounts.
  6. The agent enters the transfer amount.
  7. A confirmation screen shows the client name, account, amount, and currency. The agent confirms.
  8. Symba Payments transfers the amount from the agent's float account to the selected account.
  9. Both parties receive an SMS confirmation.

Client search methods

Your organisation configures which search methods are available:

  • Account number is always available.
  • Phone number can be enabled or disabled per organisation.
  • ID number searches use one or more configured identifier types (e.g., National ID, Passport). The identifier type must match a document stored on the client's record.
